First Look at King Claws Ride Gondola
Dreamworld new for 2025 attraction, King Claw has reached a new milestone, with the ride’s gondola seats unveiled on Saturday 6th September! These have been under wrap since originally arriving on site earlier this year. Photos Credit: The Adventures of Theme Park Girl
The seats feature modern Intamin lap-bar restraints, identical to those used on Big Dipper III at Luna Park Sydney, and all of their modern coasters. These next generation Intamin restraints are known for their comfort and minimalistic design, increasing the riders sense of exposure, enhancing the overall thrill of the experience. However, this ride does feature a seatbelt. We anticipate that these will be done up by the guest. If this is not the case, it could slow down dispatches. We believe that this is an Intamin requirement, as all of these next-generation Gyro Swings have seatbelts.
A look across the construction site shows the ride structure and base/pit is now complete, with work underway on finishing details such as concrete pouring, rendering, and theming elements.

Last month saw the installation of the ride’s icon piece, a deep sea creature positioned at the top of the rides structure. In recent days, its illuminated eyes have been observed undergoing testing, giving the ride an icon, similar to the Joker on the crest of DC Rivals Lift Hill. Photos Credit: Mr. YumYum
Dreamworld also released a video where they dove into how they created this mysteries creature. Instagram: Dreamworld
With the majority of the build finalised, we believe that testing is expected to begin shortly. Last year when Dreamworld began commissioning Jungle Rush and its week of soft openings, there was often morning construction activity that was followed by test runs in the afternoon/evening.
If works continue at this rate with testing beginning sometime next week we anticipate that, King Claw will open by the end of the September school holidays.
